Technically, he is an imposter. He just outwardly appears human due to MIRA meddling.

He's had extensive surgeries and behavioral therapy to remove his alien features.

He retained very little memory of his time growing up in the labs, but they're slowly returning.

Due to all the things he has been put through, his lifespan has been drastically shortened. The current theory is that the oldest he'll see is 34 years old.

On top of the surgeries, they also experimented other things on him that they deemed too dangerous to test on humans. A few things have nearly killed him.

Jay is an experiment by MIRA to turn an imposter into a human being through extensive surgeries and brainwashing.
SPECIES INFORMATION
They live most of their lives underwater and are built for that. They have gills, fishtails, webbed hands, all to maneuver easily in water.

Their singing voice is hypnotic; its original purpose is luring anything with hearing towards them. They can also soothe their victims into sleep.

They have sharp teeth to catch and eat fish or fish-like creatures raw.

Their birth process is unique in that they use other species as hosts for their children. Using their voice, they lure other species in and inject a fertilized egg into them.
The infant is born looking like its host creature so that they'll be taken care of, but as time goes on, the baby grows into its original species appearance and disappears into the water after a certain amount of time. They can be very invasive if brought onto other planets.
Jay has normal human male anatomy but still retains many of the instincts of his original species.
